We used LLI for a two-week management training project that involved leadership assessment of our middle-management team, classroom training, and practical application. The management evaluations of our team were exceptional. LLI met with and sat side-by-side with our supervisor and management team individually to learn about their roles & responsibilities. Each evaluation was extremely thorough. I found there to be much more assessment into individual aptitudes and work behaviors followed by performance and productivity. After the assessments, the management team went through a classroom type training and presentation of LLI’s leadership Principles. Once the training presentation was done, LLI sat with each member of the management team to observe and evaluate their application of the training. We had 8 supervisors and managers complete the training and each of them could not say enough about the process. The feedback from the management team and their staff was that they had fun with LLI and didn’t fell like that were going through a training routine. We’ve had several variations of leadership training in the past and all have brought some value, but with LLI, we learned much more about active listening and empathy strategies that almost instantly showed improvement in our team leadership. We’ll be calling on LLI to help us with leadership development on an annual basis!
I’m in HR and used LLI for leadership development training so that I can implement ‘management training ‘inside our company. I worked with Don for one week of training and cannot say enough about his training and leadership knowledge. He gave me different perspectives on how to implement leadership principles inside my organization that were much more comprehensive than our current management training. My experience with LLI was amazing and fun! I would recommend LLI to anyone looking for leadership training. Don makes the process and training environment fun. You’ll be surprised how much you learn and retain from the training with LLI. I’ve used online leadership training and courses that basically certify that you completed the training but it’s difficult to try to apply the coursework back to the job responsibilities because there are so many other factors that the coursework doesn’t take into account so you can’t be fully prepared. LLI went through a comprehensive assessment of our company objectives and helped us reestablish performance guidelines that will allow our managers to use when applying leadership and development initiatives.
LLI is awesome. Our company sent me for leadership training and we used Leaders Legacy Institute. I worked with Sylvia. She is extremely educated in a lot of business model structure but also in several admin, tech, and procurement. She was very easy to work with a she provided me with number of basic leadership principles that helped with me managing my staff. I only have 3 people that report to me, but prior to LLI, our team seemed very task oriented with little engagement in the work. After 5 days of LLI training, I was able to apply methods to get the staff more involved with projects and engaged with our overall objectives. I think we are much more connected as a team and I understand much better what seems to motivate each of them in their own individual ways. I highly recommend LLI for leadership training and development.
I was part of an executive leadership workshop that I was not fully looking forward to. The workshop was a full-day presentation called “Essentials of Leadership.” The agenda was typical with an introduction, presentation, breakout activities, and a debrief. About 10 minutes into the workshop, my expectations changed. We started off with an exercise and follow up Q & A that basically shook us all up. Little did I know that in that exercise, we immediately uncovered some of our own personal biases that without realizing it, have affected how we manage our staff. Don’s interaction with us was so natural. He kept us engaged from the start of the workshop and allowed us to provide him with areas in our jobs that we felt needed improvement rather than delivering basic leadership concepts for us to follow. Much of what we learned was about our own work behaviors and how certain “changed behaviors” can lead us to how well we build trust with our staff rather trying to apply ‘best practices’ in how to manage our staff. The workshop was amazing and fun, did not feel like a full workday. Best training I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a lot over the years.
